I am the CEO and creator of GeekJobs.pl. I am a loving husband and a father of three fantastic children, and spending time with my family is one of my life’s biggest joys. IT, specifically programming, is another one of life’s great joys for me. I fell in love with IT when I was 14 years old, and I knew immediately that I wanted to have a career in it. I have worked in the industry of 14 years, and my passion for the field has never waned. Like many professionals in IT, I have dedicated so much of my personal time to keep abreast of new developments and expand my knowledge, on top of the countless hours actually spent working. As much as I loved my job, however, long hours in the office away from my young family started to have a negative impact on me. I resolved to work from home as much as I possibly could, and I was very fortunate to be able to do so fulltime by 2020. Although the Covid-19 pandemic forced many employers to explore remote working, there was still a dearth of platforms that facilitated a seamless experience for both employers and candidates. This is where GeekJobs comes in. The idea was conceived pre-Covid19, but it’s importance was certainly amplified by it, and I began tirelessly developing the site we have today during that period.

Project story
Over the years
2024
Project renamed
After conducting internal analyses, we decided to focus on the Polish market under the new name GeekJobs.pl.
2023
Firsts job ads
In the first months of operation, customers placed over 100 advertisements.
2022 (Jan - Feb)
Project launched
The project was launched successfully. There are still many things to do and improve, but the whole project is available for customers and candidates.
2021
End of the year
The year 2020 was not only scheduled for development, but also for operational stuff. I opened a brand new company and began cooperating with lawyers in order to prepare all necessary documents required by Polish/EU law. On top of that, I submitted a proposal to the EU trademark regulator in order to restrict our logo. A very busy year!
2021
Ongoing development
The first part of the year, I did not do too much due to another project I was involved in which took priority. The second part of the year was much more productive. I worked only during my free time, mostly during the night (avg. 2hrs per day) and I managed to complete the vast majority of the features. The whole user flow and the whole payment integration were completed. In the meantime, I ordered the graphic design (I'm not able to do it myself).
2020
Start project
At the end of the year, I began working on the idea. The GIT repository was created and the first line of the code was pushed there. I had just a concept of the end result. No specified requirements or user flow in advance.
Technologies
Tools used to build the service
The system in its current iteration has been built using the latest technologies, both on the front-end and back-end. Every unauthorized page throughout the site is fully responsive on appropriate mobile devices, tablets and desktops - thanks to the use of SASS. The back-end is hosted in the cloud in a reliable and stable AWS, using API Gateway, NodeJS + TypeScript Lambdas (~ 50!), VPC (to ensure an adequate level of security), MySQL (RDS) as databases with M-Z locations with Prisma ORM, while the front- end is hosted in Vercel. Then, to maximize the speed and efficiency of the user-accessible part, the latest version of Next.js and ReactJS was used to write the front-end code. As a result, the page loads in less than 1s! The technology stack, while fairly typical, is also very reliable. All these tools will ensure that every GeekJobs user will be able to use the website without any problems.
