Java Backend Developer

We have an opportunity for a mid-senior Java Developer to work in one of the teams within our new business unit. You will get to work on industry leading games that are played and loved by millions of players worldwide.

This position is based in Poland and can be either fully remote OR hybrid from our office in Gdansk or Wroclaw. We offer a B2B contract or a contract of employment.

What You'll Do

This role offers the opportunity to work on a brand new mobile game in a team of highly skilled developers. You will work in an environment that will enable you to boost your engineering skills and have a big impact on the new features and direction of our titles. Responsibilities
Implement new features and functionalities to meet business needs
Design and develop microservices systems with Java and Spring Boot
Develop scalable solutions with performance in mind
Write unit and integration tests
Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve code quality
Liaise with multiple stakeholders within the business unit across varying functions
Participate in Scrum ceremonies and assist in the story creating process
Manage expectations with stakeholders and be transparent with risks and options.

What we're looking for
Professional experience with Java on the backend side (3-5 years)
Experience developing for backend platforms in the cloud
Solid understanding of software engineering principles and design
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines including SCM, automated building and testing
Experience working in larger teams
Empathetic, reasonable, open and approachable, yet firm and fair
Proactively communicative with strong oral and written communication skills.

Must-have: Java, Spring Boot and Microservice architecture.
Nice-to-have: Kafka (or any message broker), MongoDB, Redis, Docker and Kubernetes.
